Children’s Museum of Indianapolis Reviews and Comments

Off the Chart Cool

“This is simply the best children’s museum in the US – probably the world! If you’ve got anyone in your house under 80 years old, but particularly if they are under 12 – you simply have to go!”

Wonderful for Kids of All Ages

“They do a very good job with exhibit variety. The seasonal exhibits are fun and keep the content fresh – e.g. Christmas slide, Halloween Spooky House, Bob the Builder, Barbie, Robots, Star Wars, Lego, Sesame Street etc. The third floor Playscape is terrific for toddlers. Water and sand tables keep kids busy for 10-20 minutes at a time – for a 2 year old that is a LONG time!!! The Dinosphere exhibit is fun but if your children don’t like thunderstorms or low light areas — avoid it until they are a little older. The train exhibit is a bit of a snooze. We have a lot of fun at the museum and take all our house guests to see it. They are always impressed with the quality of the content and impressive facilities. If you can – bring your lunch. Food is overpriced and not that good.”

The Best Children’s Museum We’ve Been To

“We spent a full day at this museum with our four children ages 2,3,5 and 7. They had a blast at the museum. They especially liked the floor on Egypt. It wasn’t too crowded at all when we were there so we were able to see and do everything we wanted to. We ate at the museum and their kids lunches with the pick 3 option was very reasonable. I’d highly recommend this to anyone in the area.”

#1 Children’s Museum

“We have been to many Children’s Museums across the country with our kids and this is by far the best we have seen. I have previously read it is ranked #1 in the country by some family oriented magazine and it certainly deserves that ranking. There is a special section for kids under 5 but there are areas for all ages. I would plan to spend most of a day here. This is definitely not to be missed!”

Excellent Stop for Young and Old Alike

“Allow plenty of time to see everything. We were there for several hours and
didn’t get through all of the exhibits. One note on this: there was a special King Tut exhibit that we paid extra to view and it was quite large so there may have been enough time if we omitted this part of our visit. The dinosphere was excellent with fossilized dinos presented in a life-like setting. The All Aboard train exhibit was also very cool. They have an 18th century steam engine as well as a large collection of toy trains with an excellent operating display. All in allit’ss well worth the trip if your visiting Indy.”
