On June 6, 1903 a star was born. While it’s not quite as vital as the Sun our planet revolves around, living in Indianapolis without The Indy Star newspaper would be just as hard to do. In 2000 the Gannett Co., the nation’s largest newspaper chain, bought our local paper and has been printing it ever since. The Indianapolis Star is a two time winner of the famed Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. The first was awarded to The Star in 1975 for a series detailing corruption that plagued the Indianapolis community police department at the time. The paper received its second in 1991 in recognition of a series dealing with medical malpractice.

I cant believe it is so hard to get a copy of the Sports page for Friday Dec. 14, with the Marian Knights on the front page. I want it for my grandson’s scrapbook. They tell me I need to come down town or send $2.50 if they hadnt put the article back to back I could have used my paper. I would gladly send a check for page plust postage if they would just mail it too me. Guess Its too much trouble to have my delivery person bring it to me with my daily paper. Thanks.
