If you enjoy live Indianapolis music and want to support local talent of all ages, check out the Emerson Theater, located on on East 10th Street in Indianapolis. The Emerson prides itself on hosting local music acts every Friday and Saturday nights. National acts perform as well, always during the week, just less frequently. According to the theater’s website, this house of music is “central Indiana’s largest all-original, all-ages music venue.” It is also one of the premier venues for live performance in Indianapolis, attracting some of the hottest Indianapolis bands.

Tickets for all programs are sold at the door and each show starts at 7:00pm, unless otherwise stated on the Web site. And if you’re looking for a night of family fun that won’t break the bank, this is the place for you–prices range from a very reasonable $7 to $10.
A wide variety of acts play, spicing up the Indianapolis nightlife with local charm. Some of the most notable have included Moments in Grace, 30 Seconds to Mars, Big Business, and Death by Stereo. The Emerson Theater, which sits just southeast of freeway I-70 close to Warren Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, hosts strictly live bands playing original music. The groups come from everywhere in the nation, not just Indy, though most are local.
The Emerson Theater building itself used to be a large, old-fashioned Indianapolis movie theater. At some point, the old raked auditorium seats were torn out and room was made for a built-in stage. The hall now has a capacity of 400.
Everything about the Emerson Theater is state-of-the-art and geared for the serious enjoyment of the music, which reigns supreme at the Emerson. The groups that play there love the plug-in stage with the in-house PA and excellent lighting. The crowds love the great sound and atmosphere.
The popular Emerson Theater takes its name from its neighborhood, Emerson Heights, located in the Warren Park sector of the Circle City.

They are the most talented, energetic, audience related, entertainers, musicians, that I have ever seen.
