Galerie Penumbra, located on Virginia Avenue in Indianapolis, just off the I-65 freeway, resides in the southwest corner of metropolitan Indy, close to downtown Indianapolis. Right next door to Galerie Penumbra is the Big Car Gallery in the Fountain Square cultural district. Big Car is a major center for Indianapolis attractions.
Galerie Penumbra, an Indianapolis art gallery, shows fine Indianapolis art, sculpture, and photography by well known locals in the Indianapolis arts community, such as John Detweiler, Gregory Steel and Amy Bouse. Indianapolis artists strive to get their work featured in the gallery.
Like the Big Car Gallery, exhibitions at Galerie Penumbra are often accompanied by Indianapolis music, including DJ’s and live Indianapolis bands.
