James Kelly is an expert in the painting of birds and pet portraits. He combines an interesting sense of motion and fantasy into his otherwise highly representational pictures.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, and possesses a solid background of decades of graphic design experience.
In 2002, James built his Mad Lab Studio in downtown Indianapolis. He has since moved the studio, but the name stuck fast. His outgoing, friendly manner, along with his commitment to excellence, permeate all his work, and he has consequently amassed commendations and a good client list among the Indianapolis art community.
James Kelly is aided and abetted in Mad Lab by his wife Hadley, also a graduate of Herron School of Art. There is a fairly well established niche in Indianapolis art for this market, and its popularity is spreading throughout Indiana.
Pooch portraits, iguana portraits, and everything in between make great gifts, and are favorites for Indianapolis kids and adults alike. Got someone in your life who has everything? Order a very special, fanciful portrait of their pet the next time you can’t think of anything to get them.
Sizes vary, but usually stay between 6″ x 6″ to 18″ x 24″. These irresistible pieces are surprisingly affordable too, from $90 to $600.
