Flounder Lee, Indianapolis artist, works in many different artistic media, including painting, photography, technological, film, and installation art in Indianapolis. He describes his work as dealing with the intersections and interactions of things.
This is an idea he expands to include the juxtapositions between such crossroads as history and the present, and public and private. Science plays an essential role in this artist’s work, and he displays an inquisitive, thoughtful mind throughout.
Many of his subjects rely on abstract geometrical shapes with interesting focal points of light and dark. Flounder says that when he sets out to create, he has a good initial idea, but after that he allows the piece to create itself.
Flounder Lee has a Bachelor of Fine Art from Florida and a Master of Fine Art degree from California State at Long Beach. Well versed in the complicated techniques of the many media he employs, his work has been exhibited in the United States, Poland and Chile. Many of his pieces have been cited or featured in print publications and books, and he has made a place in the Indianapolis art community.
