Jim Irsay, one of the wealthiest people in the state of Indiana, is the owner of the National Football League team, the Indianapolis Colts, hottest ticket on the Indianapolis sports scene. His father, Robert Irsay, bought the Colts franchise, which son Jim Irsay inherited upon his father’s death. Jim presently owns 100% of the franchise and is its CEO.
Irsay is one of those working CEOs who actually deserve their success. He started working for his father’s Colts franchise in 1982 at the ticket counter. Later, he moved up to work in the public relations sector for the team, and in 1984, he was promoted to the title of general manager.

His father Robert died in 1997, and Jim was forced to do battle with his stepmother for control of the franchise, a battle he won to become the youngest owner of an NFL team. He was then 37 years old.
