Indianapolis, Indiana offers a wealth of beautiful sights to view in the city, especially in the downtown Indianapolis area. From the variety of Indianapolis parks, Indianapolis museums and Indianapolis sports arenas there are many Indianapolis attractions that cannot be fully appreciated by simply driving around the area by car. A unique option for taking in these sights and sounds of the city is by taking a horse-drawn carriage ride. These carriage rides are popular among Indiana natives as well as tourists. Rides go past many landmarks in the downtown area such as popular Indianapolis hotels, Indianapolis bars and Indianapolis restaurants, making them extremely accessible to patrons.

Companies such as Yellow Rose Carriages, located on North Capitol Avenue, have been providing carriage rides in downtown Indianapolis to customers since 1983. Carriages are equipped with a driver dressed to the nines and a beautiful horse to lead the elegant carriages around the streets of downtown Indianapolis. Rides are available year round and many companies offer them seven days a week. Carriage ride tours last around 30 minutes, affording passengers plenty of uninterrupted time to view the sights and attractions exclusive only to Indianapolis. Such attractions include the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in the heart of downtown, the Indianapolis Arts Gardens and the beautiful architecture of the downtown buildings.

Passengers are able to experience these great attractions while enjoying the crisp, clean evening air and stunning skyline of Indianapolis. It’s no question that Indiana weather is anything but predictable, so in the case of inclement weather, most carriages come equipped with tops that can be deployed at a moment’s notice to ensure patrons an enjoyable and dry ride.

Horse-drawn carriage rides are a great way to spice up a romantic evening in Indianapolis and to experience the old world charm of a carriage ride that can’t be experienced when touring downtown by conventional means.

We would like to take our grandchildren on a 30 min. carriage ride downtown. We did this a few years ago and caught the ride on the circle, is it still available on the circle and what is the cost for a short 30 min ride? Would like to do that on Friday.
