Baxter YMCA is one of the eleven branches that make up the Indianapolis YMCA. The other branches are: YMCA at the Athenaeum, Benjamin Harrison YMCA, Butler Intercollegiate YMCA, Fishers YMCA, Flat Rock River YMCA Camp, Jordan YMCA, Pike YMCA, Ransburg YMCA, Urban Mission YMCA, and West District YMCA. With renovations and expansions completed in 2003, Baxter YMCA is one of the larger YMCA facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana. Baxter YMCA is located on the southern side of Indy and includes outdoor Indianapolis basketball courts, three racquetball courts and a group exercise room with cardiovascular and strength-training machines, a sauna, whirlpool, and indoor and outdoor pools. A special outdoor spray pool is available for Indianapolis kids and visitors, and their family center includes an indoor play structure.
Available programs range from Indianapolis fitness programs for the entire family to Indianapolis community events, including immunization clinics. Other special celebrations and events take place throughout the year.
Baxter YMCA is a bastion for health in Indianapolis. The hours of operation are: 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
