The IUPUI Women’s Soccer Team hosts its matches at Kuntz Stadium, located in downtown Indianapolis, in Indiana. Head coach Chris Johnson is celebrating his sixth year with the program, with an all-time record of 24-50-12 and a Summit League record of 8-19-5. He needs only two wins this year to become the program’s all-time leader for that measure. Johnson graduated from St. Joseph’s College in 1991, and is assisted by Stacy Downing and goalkeeper coach Gary Yohe. Downing completed studies at IUPUI in 2006, and Yohe was a member of Marian College‘s class of 2007. 2008 will be the first year with the team for both Downing and Yohe.
Coach Johnson has been successful in recruiting efforts from other universities in recent years. Monica Suter transferred from Indiana Wesleyan University, Leslie Walker from Memphis, Stephanie Hoffman from Central Michigan, and Courtney Roberts from Ball State University, among other excellent players. Indianapolis is proud to be the hometown of the Jaguars and their IUPUI women’s soccer team.
