Broad Ripple Village, one of the six distinctive cultural districts of Indianapolis, is lucky to have this place of fine dining and drinks. Just as kicky Broad Ripple Village is an up-and-coming people pleaser, the Broad Ripple Tavern is fast becoming the center of all the district’s action and a main event for Indianapolis nightlife. Indeed, some say that one of their favorite things to do in Indianapolis is to head out to this comfy old-time lounge and kick back away from busy downtown Indy.
Broad Ripple Tavern has a great selection of single malt scotch and Irish whiskey. And, with the tobacco shop right next door why not bring in a cigar? During the warm months, it’s the perfect setting to do some quality people watching over dinner and drinks.
Inside feels almost posh with dark, oak panelled walls, brass ornaments, and one wall of colorful pizazz. Play pool or shoot darts in the Game Room or linger at the bar over a Sarsaparilla or a Guiness or two, on one of the authentic wooden barstools. It’ll take you back to days gone by, when life was simpler and relaxing was a little bit easier.
While Broad Ripple Tavern might never be over-crowded, it is a fun place to mingle on the weekends without the hustle and bustle of the average Broad Ripple weekender, and a good delegate of the many great restaurants in Indianapolis.
