The Great Hookup is a rock influenced jam band based in Indianapolis. Their debut album, In the Realm Of, was released in May of 2009 and is for sale on CD Baby, Luna Records, Indy CD & Vinyl, and through the band’s website. Drawing from a huge assortment of influences, including reggae, blues, and traditional Americana rock, The Great Hookup has been seen at Indianapolis bars and venues like Spin Nightclub, Birdy’s Bar & Grill, Trader’s Mill Grill & Bar, The Vogue Theatre, and The Music Mill, P.J. O’Keefe’s, and the Beer Sellar.

Rory Shute, formerly of Red House, is the lead singer for the band, as well as a guitarist. He frequently will perform as a solo act at many open mic nights in and around Indy. Brad Edwards is an experienced jazz bass player and is able to play a wide range of genres. Russ Cameron brings a unique vibe to The Great Hookup with his Fender Rhodes, an electric keyboard that can switch between a variety of sounds. Andy Baker, the lead guitarist, is a former member of The Haymakers, another Indianapolis music group. The Great Hookup’s drummer, Kris Edwards, is the holder of a music composition degree from Butler University.

As a five-member band, The Great Hookup performs at all Indianapolis music venues, both small and large. Though their shows consist mainly of original songs, they do perform a growing list of well-known covers and crowd pleasers. More information about the group may be found at their homepage.
