Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery: Letting the Good Times Flow in Indianapolis

Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery’s vow to be “serious about our food” and “crazy about our beer,” certainly holds its weight in Indianapolis, where it’s one of the most popular choices for a night of drinking and socializing in the city. When you hear “Brewery,” you might think, “What if I don’t like beer?” Never fear, Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery has more than just great beer. The extensive menu might surprise you if you just pop in for a cold one after work. With an attractive display of appetizers splashed across the first few pages of the menu, Rock Bottom aims to please any and every variety of picky eater that may wander through its doors. From traditional hungry-man fare of hot wings and loaded nachos to more inspired selections such as calamari diavolo and seared ahi tuna, there’s something for everyone who isn’t satisfied with waiting for the main course. And with a selection of starters this appealing, why should you have to wait? If you’re a little overwhelmed by the eleven appealing choices gracing the appetizer portion of the menu, try a house favorite, such as the asiago cheese dip with beer bread. The rich, creamy dip and steaming fresh bread are a killer combination, especially alongside a dark brew.

When it’s time for the main course, chances are your eye will wander toward the sections titled “Burgers” and “Steaks, Ribs and More.” As appealing as the succulent burgers and fat steaks may be, don’t overlook the “Rock Bottom Originals”: this section offers unique, delicious combos such as “Classic Mac and Chicken,” flavorful chicken floating in a dense sea of creamy mac and cheese; “Grilled Mahi Tacos,” with a coating of homemade pineapple slaw; and “Jambalaya With Red Ale Rice,” featuring spicy poblano pepper sauce and, of course, rice drenched in signature red ale sauce.

If you’re not too full after a generous meal and a few rounds of lager, it won’t take you long to peruse the dessert section and pick out one to your liking. There are six luxurious dessert choices, some of them incredibly rich, like the “Chocolate Stout Créme Brulee”. If you prefer a lighter topper to your meal, one of the non-chocolate variety, the “Two Scoops” of vanilla ice cream is just enough to send you on your way feeling satisfied.
