The University of Indianapolis men’s soccer team competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and is considered by the Indianapolis sports community to be in contention for the conference championship title every year. They make Indianapolis proud with their hard work and determination, both on and off the pitch.
The Greyhounds have an air of confidence surrounding them this season with the majority of last year’s starting squad returning to the pitch. There are, however, some who fear that the key loss of last year’s starting goalkeeper, Matt Spaulding, will be a difficult challenge for the team. Spaulding set a number of records while playing for the University of Indianapolis men’s soccer team, including the most wins in this Indianapolis school‘s history. Justin Sullivan and John Higgins are also gone from the roster this season and will be missed as regular starting players. On the bright side, seven starters and seventeen letter winners are indeed returning to competitive play, and the Greyhounds will certainly show well in the quest for the conference title.
