University of Indianapolis Men’s Swimming and Diving: Perpetual Dark Horse

The University of Indianapolis men’s swimming and diving team is an Indianapolis sports team that competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and is known throughout the league as tough competition for any team.  The Purdue University Boilermakers, a Division 1 team, learned that lesson just this past November, when the Greyhounds gave the West Lafayette team a run for their money, getting just barely edged out with a final score of 152-104.
The University of Indianapolis men’s swimming and diving team hosts a number of home swim meets at the Ruth Lilly Center Pool in Indianapolis.  The swimming and diving season runs through the school year, and there are plenty of chances to catch the Greyhounds in action from August to March. A Greyhounds meet is always a good example of the many things to do in Indianapolis.

The University of Indianapols men’s swimming and diving team is directed and trained by Head Coach Gary Kinkead.  He is assisted by Assistant Coach Orel Oral, Diving Coach Deb Kinkead, and Graduate Assistant Hanno Ahonen.  The Greyhounds boast several international athletes from Turkey, Cyprus, and Israel, as well as some native Indiana swimmers.

The University of Indianapolis men’s swimming and diving team is extremely well-rounded in regard to experience level, with lots of senior leadership and a strong core group of freshmen.  If you’re in Indy and you’re an Indianapolis sports fan, give the Greyhounds a try; they won’t let you down.
