TheUniversity of Indianapolis women’s basketball team, the Lady Greyhounds, have had their work cut out for them in past seasons, but with some key starters returning to competition, the team should be able to handle anything that comes their way.
There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that past superstars like Deanna Thomson, a forward who averaged five boards per game and ranks seventh all-time at UIndy in blocks, contributed more than their fair share, but fans and players alike usually prefer to look ahead, rather than behind them.
Head Coach LeAnn Freeland, a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, and Assistant Coach Constantin Popa, from the University of Miami, work hard to get the University of Indianapolis women’s basketball team where they need to be in order to finish strong, as in years past, in the NCAA tournament.
This women’s basketball team plays Indianapolis home games on campus, just a few minutes directly south of beautiful downtown Indianapolis, in Nicoson Hall. The Indianapolis basketball season spans from early November to mid-March.
