The University of Indianapolis women’s swimming and diving team, colloquially known as the Lady Greyhounds, competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Team members, year after year, are known for their determination and will to win, their distaste for defeat, and their fiercely competitive natures.
The University of Indianapolis women’s swimming and diving team host a number of home swim meets at the Ruth Lilly Center Pool in Indianapolis, Indiana. The swimming and diving season runs through the school year and there are plenty of chances to catch the Greyhounds in action from August to March.
The University of Indianapolis women’s swimming and diving team is currently led by Head Coach Gary Kinkead. He is assisted by Assistant Coach Orel Oral, Diving Coach Deb Kinkead, and Graduate Assistant Hanno Ahonen. The Greyhounds have always been made up mostly of local Indiana swimmers like Indy native and Decatur Central graduate senior freestyle star Andrea Wingate, as well as talented young athletes from elsewhere all over the nation.
