Festive and hopping
We just dropped in on a Saturday. The place was festive and hopping. We had a beer — Cyprus (can’t remember the name) and it is potent. My wife had the meat pie and I had the gyros. I loved the gyros and the cucumber sauce. They also served spicy green beans, good bread with olive oil butter, excellent potatoes, and a house salad. They had belly dancing and it was fun…

Authentic
I have eaten Greek food many times (including in Greece), and this place is pretty good. The family that owns it is Greek, so the recipes were authentic. Still, as there are variations of American food (southern, northwest, etc.), they were not the recipes I was used to …

Awesome dive!
Authentic little greek restaurant. Looks like a blue dive … but their food is awesome! Flaming cheese is a must! Consistenly good and great service.

Best in Indy
This is the best Greek restaurant in Indianapolis. Yes, Santorini’s pays for more advertising and gets more press, but the owners are on site at Greek Islands to make sure you have a delicious meal. The Greek salad is composed of mostly iceberg lettuce, which is probably not authentic, but it tastes so crisp and fresh, and it’s not overdressed…

Made from scratch to order
Everything is made directly from scratch, nothing precooked or over-seasoned. They cook to order – they even have a gluten-free menu! The weekends are great! They have a fabulous dancer every Friday and Saturday night …

Long wait but good food
The food is good, if you can stand the long wait, slow service, and the chef coming out in a stained apron to bs with everyone instead of cooking their food…

Try the Panteleimon wine!
I come here for the saganaki, souvlaki, and KEO St. Panteleimon wine (which I have only been able to find at this restaurant….its difficult to even find a liquor store with a distributor that carries the stuff).

Good Greek!
Good greek. Busy place but typically good service. Don’t miss the saganaki, or flaming cheese and the salads.
