Indianapolis Monthly (A.K.A. Indy Monthly) was founded in 1973 by Michael R. Levy. Since then it has grown exponentially with a circulation reaching over 700,000 Hoosier homes in Central Indiana. It has achieved such a dedicated following in Indianapolis by offering its readers a level of journalism unmatched by any other publication in the same geographical region.
This popular Indianapolis magazine is chock full of in-depth articles and photos that jump off the page. It is easy to see why this has become the premier general-interest magazine in all of Indy. The Monthly’s coverage of what makes this city great has been recognized time and again with such awards as the 2005, 2006 and 2007 general excellence award presented by the City and Regional Magazine Association.
With features on such topics as up and coming neighborhoods to keep an eye on in the Indianapolis real estate market and the latest addition to the nightlife in Indianapolis, you will find yourself turning to the pages of this publication constantly. Critiques of the latest art in Indianapolis found hanging in galleries on Mass Ave and the Indianapolis Museum of Art will show you what to look for when viewing these pieces in person. The Menu Guide printed each December reviews which Indianapolis restaurants to eat at and make suggestions about what dishes to order. The annual city guide gives Indianapolis Monthly readers the inside scope of upcoming Indianapolis events and what are some worthwhile things to do in Indianapolis. Culture in Indianapolis is just teeming from the pages of the Indy Monthly, and there’s even a reference guide section for Indianapolis television. Whether you are in downtown Indianapolis or a bit further out in our metropolis, where to shop in Indianapolis is made easy thanks to the monthly shopping guides.
How does Indianapolis Monthly keep their readers coming back time and time again? With the kind of writing that gives the reader all possible information on the subject yet still leaving them wanting more. The photos found inside this magazine’s covers are so vivid and breathtaking that they too tell a story. When the two are combined it creates the tour-du-force residents have come to love and expect. Since it is a monthly publication it can not compete with other print media, when it comes to breaking news. However what the Indy Monthly lacks in quickness it more than makes up for in content. Whatever facet of city life interests you the most, you will find what you are looking for right here. To find out what’s new, what’s news and what’s worth talking about Indianapolis Monthly is your indispensable guide to everything Indy!

Are you talking about a review from FunCityFinder Indianapolis or an article that the Indianapolis Monthly did on Buca de Beppo?
I read Indianapolis Monthly magazine consistently. I have a problem with your restraurant review of one of our favorite restaurants. We love Buca de Beppo. We frequent the one in Castleton. It is a wonderful restaurant and we drive 90 miles to eat there. Our problem is that your review of the restaurant is degrading. You state: almost all the dishes are loaded with garlic (or similar words). We disagree. Their chopped Antipasto is the best we have ever had. Their Fettucini Alfredo is wonderful, as is the ravioli and the other dishes we have had. We really think you need to write a better review of this restaurant, because if we went by your review, we would never have gone there! Please revise your review and state the facts, that it is a good place to dine. Garlic is part of italian cooking…and I’m italian!
