Indianapolis citizens know how to party, especially when it comes to celebrating the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race (the Indy 500), and the Regions 500 Festival Snakepit Ball is the biggest party of them all. This black-tie gala is the place to be the night before the race! The star-studded affair turns up the glam over the city, allowing Indianapolis residents and guests the chance to mingle with celebrities, VIP guests, race car drivers, and even Indy’s own royalty during the month of May, the 500 Festival Princesses. A red carpet is rolled out and dinner and dancing commence as the city salutes one of Indy’s biggest events in sports.

The Snakepit Ball is held at the ritzy Indiana Roof Ballroom and promises to be an evening to remember among various other celebrations taking place during the month of May in Indy. As far as Indianapolis events go, it’s one of the most dazzling of the year. Guests might be capping off a whole day of commemorating as they arrive at the ball fresh from a day in the sun at the 500 Festival Parade, another fun-filled, televised event brimming with celebrities, drivers, and even costumed characters and helium-filled balloons. Other revelers at the ball might be a little sore, since the day before, more than 35,000 runners from all over the world compete in the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, the biggest half-marathon in the world. Other activities that take place during the weeks leading up to the race involve fun for the whole family, including Kids Day, Community Day, the Memorial Service, the Victory Circle Celebration, and Breakfast at the Brickyard. Each event is planned to celebrate the citizens of Indianapolis and the overwhelming success of the Indy 500.

If you’re planning on attending the race and the surrounding festivities that define the month of May in Indianapolis, the Regions 500 Festival Snakepit Ball is a can’t-miss event. Downtown Indy is never as glamorous as the night before the race; the whole city comes out to celebrate. So guys, dust off your tuxes and ladies, start looking for that perfect dress; you won’t want to miss out on this enchanting evening of dinner, dancing, and saluting Indy’s favorite time of the year!
