Tickets can be purchased for varying fees prior to the race and at the gates on the big day, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option, try out the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race Infield. The circle inside the track is the place to be on race day. You can bring in coolers, mini-grills, yard games, and almost anything else you might need to complete your day of fun in the sun.
Those in charge at Indy Racing League work to bring you the most enjoyable experience possible at all of their races. For their pride and joy, the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, they bring you Miller Lite Carb Day. Carb Day takes place the Friday before the race and promises a day full of fun and nonstop action.
A national musical act performs each year at Carb Day, and it’s one of the final days that fans can watch their favorite drivers take to the track for practice before the checkered flag waves on race day. You can also come out in the final few weeks before the race to watch the drivers qualify; this is a great activity for Indianapolis kids on a sunny day.
The Indy Racing League is supported by the Indianapolis 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing fun and enriching opportunities to the community for celebrating the success of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. They host a number of events in the city in the month before the race, both in downtown Indianapolis and at the track.
