Conseco Inc. is located in Indianapolis, IndianaIn 1979 Security Life of Indiana first started providing financial services to Americans nationwide from their headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. In 1983 Security Life acquired a company then known as Consolidated National. To show their solidarity in this new union, the insurance company changed its name to the present day Conseco. In the three decades  since Conseco’s inception, they have grown to be one of the leading businesses in Indianapolis both for the work they do in their community and for their community.

Conseco’s insurance companies have made it their goal to protect American working families and senior citizens from financial adversity. Customers can rely on Conseco to help provide for medicare supplement, long term care for those suffering from cancer, heart attack  and stroke victims as well as protecting people from other unplanned expenses.

With their annuities and life insurance products Conseco also helps their customers plan for their financial future. This dedication to help those in need is reflected by the over four million Americans that employee Conseco to secure their finances. Conseco is also a major contributor of Indianapolis jobs for Hoosiers, employing over 2000 central Indiana residents.

While the company might best be known for their sponsorship of the Conseco Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis, home of the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever, they have a much greater affect on our community than most realize. Conseco‘s charitable side that the Indianapolis public does not often enough get to see or hear about is their “Step Up” program. The company’s goal of ever forward progress is best depicted by their logo. Which is a set of stairs climbing higher and higher with no end in sight.

Through this program the company encourages its employees to get out and volunteer their time to help some of the best charities in the area like the American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Race for the Cure, United Way and the Julian Center. Last year alone 870 Conseco employees volunteered over 8,000 hours of community service.

Each year Conseco honors up to seven of their workers for their outstanding efforts with grants of up to $20,000 for the charities and organizations they volunteer with. The company also gives away countless tickets to all the Indianapolis events held at the Conseco Fieldhouse.

Throughout their company’s history Conseco has shown through their tireless dedication to both their customers and the communities they live in that they care. This  responsibility to improve the lives of others is why Conseco is one of the largest public Indianapolis companies, but it shows more than that. It also shows that collectively they have one of the biggest hearts in all of the business world.
