The famed exhibit Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs will tour into the Indianapolis Children’s Museum this summer from June 27 to October 25, 2009.
This once in a lifetime event is only in Indianapolis for a short time. Do not miss your opportunity to get up close and personal to ancient Egyptian artifacts from the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The exhibit has taken over the second floor of the Childrens Museum and spans over the course of eleven galleries.
The first six galleries focus on daily life for ancient Egyptians and early dynasty Pharoahs. The last five galleries are composed of fifty objects directly from the tomb of the boy king. While the most famous images like his death mask, his coffin, and his mummified body cannot leave Egypt, the riches seen in this exhibit will wow young and old alike.
Arts and Exhibitions International is the company that is making it possible for so many people to have such a rich cultural experience in their home cities. They have been on the road with King Tut’s burial artifacts for more than four years visiting cities all over the world including London, Vienna, San Francisco, Atlanta, Houston, and Philadelphia. And now its here in the Circle City!
The Indianapolis community is expected to turn out in droves to wander through these halls of antiquity. Indianapolis kids who love the Indianapolis Childrens Museum will drop their jaws as their eyes feed on these beautiful artifacts. This is by far one of the coolest things to do in Indy this Summer.
Do not miss your opportunity to visit Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs through October of 2009. Find out more information about planning your trip by visiting the official website!
