A deep exploration of flavors and ingredients is underway at L’explorateur, an Indianapolis restaurant located in Broad Ripple. Buying local is a priority at this Indianapolis business, and oftentimes the iNgredients on the plate traveled a shorter distance to the restaurant than the customers. Hoosier farmers provide the majority of vegetables and meats on the menu.
One of the most popular and experienced chefs in the Circle City runs the kitchen at L’explorateur Restaurant. Chef Neal Brown’s goal is to explore, discover and create unique entrees that are completely original. The menu features the traditional French cuisine, such as frog legs and escargots, with an authentic L’explorateur twist. Tree sap is even used as an ingredient in Chef Brown’s kitchen, as he takes customers on a journey of new flavors. The interesting and new tastes that emerge from the restaurant are precisely why it’s name translates to “The Explorer.”
Chef Neal Brown opened L’explorateur Restaurant after the previous restaurant in the location closed business. L’explorateur is known throughout Indy for its seafood entrees, like the Pacific Snapper meal or the Fresh Oysters. The menu features other traditional French meals, like
the Crispy Gunthorp Duck Confit or the Fresh Pappardelle. There is a ton of variety for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. L’explorateur offers a three course tasting menu that’s paired with wine for those customers feeling hungry and adventurous. Its location is perfect for business, near Broad Ripple Park, and just miles from downtown Indianapolis, Butler University and the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
The staff at L’explorateur is well trained and dedicated to har work and love for food. The restaurant has two dining rooms, one for formal dining and one for a casual raw food bar, where customers can taste raw octopus and many other delicacies. Reservations are not required for either room, but the house is packed on weekends. L’explorateur Restaurant has a Web site where customers can place reservations.
