Every now and then, a phenomenon known as Bisonmania sweeps the Midwest. Symptoms are somewhat global in nature, but usually revolve around an uncontrollable urge to search the nearby fields for very large hoofed mammals, or at least a restaurant that serves them up for lunch and dinner.
Ted’s Montana Grill has done all the hunting for you. They have bison on the menu year round, along with a huge list of other favorite standbys. Ted’s has been busily sweeping the Midwest, even down into Florida, since it opened its first grill in Ohio in 2002. They now run over fifty restaurants in some eighteen lucky states, all serving up their same tried-and-true menu of classic American comfort food with the same style and dedication.
Ted’s whole thing is fresh everything. It’s all made from scratch with nothing that has ever seen the inside of a microwave. Ted’s offers some cool blue-plate specials daily, along with their classic and succulent steaks, crab cakes, home-style meatloaf, pecan-crusted trout, various delectable chicken grills, cedar plank salmon and all kinds of burgers, including, of course, the bison. Ted’s Montana Grill is renowned for its simple, simply delicious American food and its amazing affordability. With the average price for a full meal ranging from six to twenty dollars, you would expect some corners to be cut along the way. But Ted’s maintains a consistent steady hand on the quality, knowing that giving more for less is the best road to success.
At Ted’s Montana Grill, they have a real appetite for things done right. Everything from their flavorful St. Phillip’s Island Crab Cake to the BBQ Bison Short Ribs to their all-natural Beer Can Chicken and the Grandma-esque Homemade Strawberry Shortcake is made to please you, made from the best, freshest ingredients available.
The beverage menu reflects Ted’s dedication to straightforward perfection with a dash of imagination too. It offers such interesting drinks as Ted’s signature margaritas, the ultimate dirty Martini and something simply called “firewater.”
The great atmosphere at Ted’s is another draw to this unique Indianapolis eatery. When you walk in, sit down and have a look around, you’ll feel as if you just landed back in the early 1900s at a real, old-fashioned Montana grill, designed, like the food, for warmth and comfort, with all-natural ingredients. Well-considered touches are everywhere, form the distressed tin ceilings, to the classic ceiling fans and pendant lighting, metal crown molding, mahogany paneling, unpolished brass and intricate tiled floors. You will find yourself somehow relaxing at Ted’s, and approaching your comfort food surrounded by real, down-to-earth comfort.
True to the classic theme, Ted’s keeps a great General Store going too, selling popular gift cards, food to take home, a bison cookbook, Ted’s music CD, Ted’s eco-friendly tote bags, stuffed bison animals and keychains, and embroidered branded Ted’s apparel. There’s even a cap with bison horns on it.
Ted’s Montana Grill does not claim to cure all your ills, but you’ll feel a lot better after a visit, and you won’t lose any arrows hunting your meat, either.
There are two Ted’s Montana Grill restaurants in Indianapolis, one in the northwest quadrant of the city, and one in fast-growing, upscale Carmel, a suburb due north. Oh, by the way, the Ted in Ted’s Montana Grill? That’s the Ted Turner.
