For a splashing time in the sun, or a shivering extravaganza on ice, Perry Park is the place to be all year round. During the winter months, this Indianapolis park opens its popular indoor ice skating rink. In summertime, Perry Park has a fun aquatic center that will cool down any hot Hoosier day.
Perry Park is located on the south side of Indianapolis, near Greenwood. Aside from the swimming and skating attractions, Perry Park has picnic areas, rain shelters, a roller blading area and a community room. The park was established in 1961, and has been fostering the growth of Indianapolis society for more than 45 years.
Perry Park is the perfect spot for the whole family to cool down and enjoy the sunshine. For Indianapolis children, Perry Park has a safe kiddie pool area equipped with plenty of splashing toys and spraying fountains. The park also features two different types of waterslides, lane swimming and a recreational pool.
Indy Parks and Recreation hosts a variety of activities on ice, including ice skating, broomball, hockey and speed skating. They also hold ice skating programs and instructional classes for beginners. Indy Parks only has one other indoor rink, located at Ellenberger Park. The outdoor skating rink that’s operated by Indy Parks is located on the Eagle Creek Reservoir.
Hours and pricing details for the pools and ice rink can be found on the Perry Park Web site.
