One of the rising stars among Indianapolis music venues is Radio Radio, a refined, casual concert venue that’s the headquarters for Indy‘s growing underground music scene.

Radio Radio is on Prospect Street in Indianapolis, close to Garfield Park and only a couple of doors down from the Fountain Square Theatre. The venue is part of Fountain Square, a growing cultural district in Indianapolis. Fountain Square is about a mile and a half away from downtown Indianapolis and is home to a thriving Indianapolis art and theatre scene, second only to Mass Ave. Radio Radio is a vital part of the area, playing host to many members of the Indianapolis music scene and creating a casual meeting place for hipsters of all ages, except those under 21.
Radio Radio in Fountain Square
Radio Radio is one of the more popular venues for underground musicians in Indianapolis. NUVO Newsweekly, Indianapolis’ source for alternative press, regularly features Radio Radio show dates and times. The venue has one of the best sound systems in Naptown, making every band that passes through its doors sound their best. You’ll feel at home in the comfortable retro interior that features mellow lighting and an excellent stage. The venue has an alcohol selection that rivals your favorite Indianapolis bar, so it’s a great place to sit back, have a drink, and watch some great Indianapolis music.

Bands that come through Radio Radio in Indianapolis represent all areas of the United States and play all sorts of different genres, including metalcore and psychedelia. Indianapolis bands like Haste the Day, Gwen Stacy, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s, Stereo Deluxe, and Brandon Whyde have all performed at Radio Radio, and national acts like carnival rock group Man Man and Americana folk artist Ryan Bingham fill the venue’s space as well. Radio Radio even has a monthly rockabilly night on the first Saturday of every month, hosted by Bigger Than Elvis, an Indianapolis band.
