In historic Vincennes, Indiana lies one of the area’s biggest tourist attractions, known as Windy Knoll Winery. This family hobby officially became a thriving Indiana business in the spring of 2002, and it now spans an impressive 14 acres of vineyards.
Ten types of wines are produced on this Indiana winery‘s premises, with another six coming from grapes from the surrounding area. Windy Knoll Winery boasts the honor of having eight award-winning varieties in the Indiana State Fair wine competition, which hosts numerous participants from throughout the Hoosier state, the Midwest, and even the United States. This competition has become the largest domestic and international wine contest in the country.
For more information about Windy Knoll Winery, visit their website, where you’ll find a full wine list, more on the history of the winery, and a newsletter with current events and happenings.
For those who don’t live near Vincennes but would like to sample what Windy Knoll Winery has to offer, make sure to check out their booth at the Vintage Indiana Wine and Food Festival right here in Indianapolis. Held each June in downtown Indianapolis in Military Park, this celebration of Indy’s wine and food culture officially kicks off the lazy days of summer in Indiana. Windy Knoll Winery is a favorite participant at the festival each year.
