Fright Manor: We Dare You to Go In Alone

by Casey Brackney

in News

This Halloween, if you’re looking for the scariest adventure the Hoosier state has to offer, head to Fright Manor, located in the heart of Indianapolis. This spooky retreat promises to bring you “the scariest haunt in Indianapolis,” and year after year, Indy citizens agree; they keep coming back for more electrifying entertainment. Fright Manor is one of the most visited haunted houses in Indiana.

This year at Fright Manor, 2009′s three haunts have been reduced to two extra long Indianapolis attractions, the Psychomanthium and The Abandonment. The Psychomanthium conjures up the dead for a horrifying experience with the “other” side. New this year is “The Abandonment,” an abandoned warehouse haunted by a homicidal maintenance man. These two haunts are even longer than last year’s Fright Manor, so come prepared for an arduous night of thrills and chills. Between the attractions, screams of terror can be heard echoing over the dark grounds.

No haunted attraction is complete without appearances from some of the legends of Hollywood who have dared to take on the darkest roles in history. In years past, some of the gruesome stars of Friday the 13th and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre have been on hand at Fright Manor to sigh autographs for those courageous enough to approach them.

This favorite thing to do in Indianapolis is so intense, it is not recommended for Indianapolis children under eight years of age or those who scare easily. So grab a group of friends with the guts to handle the horrors that await at Fright Manor, and scare yourself silly this Halloween season.

The 2010 edition of the popular Fright Manor will take place starting on October 1. Open dates for Indy fright fans to brave the house are October 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, and October 20 through Halloween itself, October 31. In addition, adventurers who make it through the entire scream fest will be awarded with a free T-shirt: proof of their constitution to their friends, family, and admirers.
