In addition to the ghastly tales of murder and whispered legends of spirits and spooks, each October haunted Indianapolis gears up to provide Halloween entertainment that’s a bit more family friendly. ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo combines lovable animals with fall fun and promises a good time for all.

During this nine-day stretch of autumn activities, bring your Indianapolis kids to see their favorite furry friends dressed in their costumed best. Stop by the Halloween Dolphin Show, watch an elephant paint, and check out the Elephant Pumpkin Smash. Make sure you make the rounds of the whole park–it’s full of holiday exhibits sure to provide your kids with a memorable evening.

Don’t forget to try your luck at the winding hay maze, and make some time for jumping in the bounce house. Pumpkin bowling is another activity you and your kids won’t want to miss. And if your legs get tired after all that walking, jump on the Halloween Train Ride; it’s costumed characters will take you wherever you want to go. Even backwards!

Every Halloween lover knows that around the Hoosier state, part of the fun of October is the slight chill in the air that brings with it the opportunity for warm, gooey carmel apples and fresh hot cider. And what Halloween celebration is complete without trick-or-treats along the way? Plenty of sugary goodness awaits as you make your way around the decorated grounds. Your kids will love the magic of an evening spent experiencing the holiday happenings at the Indianapolis Zoo.

ZooBoo takes place from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for a stretch of nine days each Halloween season, excluding some week days. For more information, check out the Indianapolis Zoo website.
