Jason Mraz, The Oak Ridge Boys added to State Fair concert line-up

The Indiana State Fair has added Pop Star Jason Mraz and legendary singing quartet The Oak Ridge Boys to an already impressive concert line-up in Indianapolis, at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand, located near the Pepsi Coliseum.  Mraz with special guest G.Love & Special Sauce will take the stage Tuesday, August 18 at 7 p.m.  The Oak Ridge Boys with special guest Larry Gatlin will perform Wednesday, August 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Known for his fun, folksy style, Mraz soared to stardom six years ago with a string of hits that include “Remedy (I Won’t Worry),” “Curbside Prophet” and “Wordplay.”  His latest album, “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.,” spawned the current hit “I’m Yours,” and led to three more Grammy award nominations.  Tickets for this show are $34 and $44 and include State Fair admission.  They will go on sale Friday, June 5 at 10 a.m.

Life seems to have come full circle for The Oak Ridge Boys.  After turning out hit after hit on the country charts for most of the past four decades, the group has returned to its gospel roots with its latest album, “The Oak Ridge Boys:  A Gospel Journey.”  Produced in conjunction with legendary Hoosier gospel singer Bill Gaither, the DVD recently debuted at #2 on the Billboard Music Video chart.  Tickets for this show are $20, $25 and $39 and include State Fair admission.  They will go on sale this Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m.

In addition to all the sensational musical performers at this year’s State Fair, the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand will also play host to some other great events during the fair’s 17-day run August 7 – 23.  For the first time in nearly 20 years, tractor pulls return to the fair during the Lucas Oil Motorsports Weekend featuring the Indy Super Pull August 8 – 9.  The August 8 shows are at 1 and 7 p.m.; the August 9 pull is at 3 p.m.  Tickets for this event do not include State Fair admission and are as follows:
. Advance reserve (single session): $15 & $20 adult; $5 children 3 – 12
. Advance general admission (single session): $10 adult; $5 children 3 – 12
. Advance reserve weekend pass (three sessions): $30, $45 & $60 adult; $15 children 3 – 12
. Day of show general admission (single session): $12 adult; $5 children 3 – 12
Advance sales for this event end August 7 and tickets are on sale now.
Two other events in the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand will not only offer great family entertainment, but unbeatable value as well.  The International Circus Hall of Fame from Peru, Ind., will perform three times Monday, August 17 at 11 a.m., 2 and 6 p.m.  Then, Sunday, August 23, the Lucas Oil Demolition Derby presented by ampm followed by the Last Blast Fireworks begins at 5:30 p.m.  Both of these shows are free!
