The Blood Reckoning Loses Drummer; Haste the Day Announces Tour

The Blood Reckoning Search for New Drummer

The Blood Reckoning, a Christian death metal band from Kokomo, Indiana, recently announced the departure of their longtime drummer, Adam Kilgore. From the Indianapolis band‘s MySpace page:

“Unfortunately, due to us not being able to make enough on the road to pay Adam’s bills, he’s decided to leave the band and search for a job.  We all wish him the very best and hope you do too.  While we truely (sic) wish it would’ve worked out, we have to move on.  Adam has been a large part of this band for a long time and its going to be very difficult to find someone to fill his shoes.”

On the same MySpace post, The Blood Reckoning also posted requirements for a new drummer, and it looks like the band has its work cut out for it. Kilgore was an important piece of the band’s sound and helped the band gain success and notoriety in the Indianapolis music scene.

The Blood Reckoning released their first LP in March of 2009, titled The Blood Reckoning. The group recently wrapped up their Beast Coast Tour with Ohio metal band THEGUNSHOW. Frequently playing at Indianapolis music venues like the Irving Theatre and the Emerson Theatre, there’s no doubt that The Blood Reckoning will be back in the saddle and ready to unleash some blast beats before too long.

Haste the Day Announces International Tour

In other, less unfortunate Indianapolis news, Christian metalcore band Haste the Day announced their “5 Countries, 3 Continents” tour. From the band’s MySpace page:

“Hey everyone! You’ve probably seen that Haste The Day are going to be playing several international dates this month. We’re very excited to announce that these dates have been officially combined into the 5 Countries 3 Continents Tour! Starting in the good ol’ USA, we’re kicking off the tour at Revelation Generation Festival in Frenchtown, New Jersey. We’ll then make our debut performance in New Zealand, head back to Australia, play for the first time in South America for two nights in Bogotá, Colombia, and finish things off by playing our second Generación Sin Limites in Panamá City, Panamá! We’re going to be filming for our upcoming DVD, so bring all your friends, and let’s make these shows killer!”

The tour will feature a total of 13 shows spread out of 27 days and marks a new tier of popularity for the long running metalcore group. The band recently released their latest album, Dreamer, in 2009. The record showed a new direction for the band, with more complex vocal and melody lines and a far more textured sound. Haste the Day has performed at many Indianapolis music venues, including the Music Mill, the Vogue Nightclub, and the Murat Theatre.

The band is signed to Solid State Records, a Christian division of Tooth and Nail Records that is also the home of Indianapolis band Gwen Stacy. Gwen Stacy signed with Solid State a few days prior to this announcement.
