The Greatest Show on Earth is coming to the legendary Conseco Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis from this Thursday to this Sunday (see below for hours). The two undisputed leaders in the circus ring, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey, team up to present a show they call “Over the Top,” and with good reason. Acrobatics to make your eyes pop, talented circus clowns, horseback riding tricks, fireworks, dancing dogs, animals and floats galore, jugglers, parades and death-defiers of all description will thrill Indianapolis, especially Indianapolis children and the parents they bring, for four straight days of amazement.

When this circus comes to town, the audience will witness aerial artists and drama to rival Cirque du Soleil. You’ll also see the dancing tigers, trained to show off their native strength and beauty in breathtaking feats of agility, the lines of enormous elephants walking on their back legs, the horses doing impossible tricks just for you, and much, much more. You’ll fall in love with the four-legged stars, as well as the two-legged ones.

The Greatest Show on Earth offers two cool pre-show entertainments, along with the main event. Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey have instituted an “Animal Open House,” occurring 90 minutes prior to every show. The Animal Open House shares the wonderful circus animals with everyone who comes to the circus, and it’s free with your ticket. Come early and get to know the circus co-stars, up close and in person. The Open House demonstrates just how the circus animals live, perform and play with their two-legged associates. Take your cameras!

Does your kid dream of joining the circus? Do you? Attend the pre-show, open to all ticket holders, and meet the stars, right on the arena floor. Try on a circus costume, see how the muscle men in Clown Alley bulk up, try out the new Bombastic Bouncers and mingle with the circus stars. It’s all happening one hour before every show.

The Indy landmark called the Conseco Fieldhouse, home of the famous Indiana Pacers of the NBA, is also a major Indianapolis events venue, and an important Indianapolis attraction. Besides Indianapolis basketball, the Conseco Fieldhouse is one of the best venues in Indiana to see ice hockey, world wrestling events and concerts. And it’s the perfect place for The Greatest Show on Earth.
