After a brief closure last February, a reopening last April and then another closure just recently, the Music Mill Restaurant and Bar will soon be back in the business of rocking Indianapolis to its core. Located in the Clearwater Springs Shopping Center in Indy‘s upbeat Northside, close to the Fashion Mall at Keystone Crossing, burgeoning Carmel, Broad Ripple Village and Castleton, the Music Mill is a popular Indianapolis Bar and party place that seats 700 guests, and many more when they’re upright and dancing.
Ravi Chopra, owner of the 6 Lounge and Restaurant in busy downtown Indianapolis, has bought the Music Mill and is in the process of preparing for its third re-opening this year, on October 12. Chopra sees the Indianapolis music venue, also a popular Indianapolis restaurant, primarily as a performance locale for Indianapolis bands and other entertainers, such as comedians.
The Music Mill Restaurant and Barfirst opened its doors in 2005 and attracted numerous luminaries of Indianapolis music, including others from nearby cities in Indiana, and even some on tour from around the nation. Before 2005, the large facility accommodated a center for Indianapolis children called Discovery Zone. Today, however, the place is definitely not for little kids.
New owner Chopra remains optimistic about his chances to take over and succeed where others left off. “It just needs a little love,” he says. He considers the Music Mill the perfect venue for eating, drinking, dancing and generally making merry, and has set his sights to make it a star among the bright lights of Indianapolis nightlife.
|On September 15, from 11:30 am – 5:00 pm, the Music Mill is hosting a job fair with the aim of filling its need for over 100 employees. They need support staff of all kinds, including managers, restaurant workers and events experts.|
