INDIANAPOLIS – The top-seeded Indiana Fever battles the fourth-seeded Washington Mystics when the best-of-three game Eastern Conference Semifinals begin next Thursday, Sept. 17 (7:00 p.m., ESPN2) in Washington, D.C. The series shifts to the new Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis for Game 2 on Saturday, Sept. 19 (7:00 p.m., NBATV) and, if necessary, Game 3 on Monday, Sept. 21 (8:00 p.m., ESPN2).

It is the Fever’s fifth consecutive appearance in the WNBA Playoffs and its sixth in 10 seasons. Indiana has twice advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, in 2005 and 2007. The winner of the Indiana-Washington series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals where it will meet the winner of the No. 2 seed Atlanta vs. No. 3 seed Detroit semifinal series. The Fever, regular season champions of the Eastern Conference, will also host the homecourt advantage in a conference finals series, if it advances.
The 2009 Fever Playoffs are presented by Kinetico and Subaru, and Indiana’s first home playoff game is a Lucas Oil Family Night presented by The Indianapolis Star. With each ticket purchased, fans will receive a voucher redeemable for a free hot dog, chips, a soft drink and a T-shirt.
