Do you know about the Neighborhood Exploration Tour, or NExT, in Indianapolis? It’s a community group sponsored by the Indianapolis Art Center, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the site of the Indiana State Fair. The object is to encourage sightseeing, recreation and health in Indianapolis by way of a 200-year-old, tried and true form of transportation the world over: the humble bicycle. On this coming Saturday, September 26, you can get together with other enthusiastic bike riders and discover Indianapolis from a brand new point of view.
The route covers fifteen miles of historic to modern Indy neighborhoods. You’ll be wheeling along some of the most fascinating low-traffic streets and bike trails of the Circle City, down along the Indianapolis Canal Walk and also along the famous Monon Trail. Neighborhoods covered go from the Indianapolis downtown sector to the “near North” areas.
