The IFEA, better known across the country as the International Festivals Association, opened its big 54th Annual Convention and Expo in Indianapolis last Monday. Friday, September 25, is the last day to attend the week-long convention and exposition. It is an honor for Indy to be chosen as the site of the important IFEA convention and expo. That organization hones in on one site in the entire world for its annual convention locale, and has a policy of choosing a different site every year.
Tipping their collective hats to the mega-success that is the Indianapolis 500, the IFEA organizers have employed a racing theme throughout this year’s convention. The racing theme gives the nod not only to the racing history of Indianapolis, but also to Indianapolis events that center around racing.
The International Festivals and Events Association was founded in 1956, and then known as the “Festival Manager’s Association.” Today it is the top such organization in the world, with partnerships in Latin America, the Middle East, Australia, Europe, Asia, Africa and throught North America.
The IFEA holds this slogan as a definition of their commonality: “A Globally United Industry that Touches Lives in a Positive Way through Celebration.” This year, it brings illumination and inspiration not only to Indianapolis business and Indianapolis media professionals, but to those from the state of Indiana and beyond.
