The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra kicks off their season this Saturday evening, September 26 at 6:00 pm with their Gala Opening, a celebration of America. The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has an exciting season planned, and this night will set the tone for the rest of the 2009-2010 season.
Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham narrates Copland’s Lincoln Portrait and Gabriela Montero performs Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra celebrates America. Ms. Montero also reprises John Williams’s Air and Simple Gifts from President Barack Obama’s Inauguration with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra principals Alexander Kerr, David Bellman and Perry Scott. All this and more is happening this Saturday at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s Gala Opening at the Hilbert Circle Theater.
