Auditions began today for entertainers to participate in the annual Circle of Lights holiday bash on famous Monument Circle in the heart of Indianapolis downtown. What better way to showcase your talents or those of your group’s than to perform at the brightest Indianapolis performing arts venue of all?
Every year over 100,000 visitors are drawn to the Circle of Lights to take in the splendor of the decorated Soldiers and Sailors Monument. If you think you have what it takes to be an active part of this extraordinary Indianapolis event, why not go out for the Circle of Lights Talent Auditions? It’s good practice anyway, whether they say yes or no. Vocalists, dancers, choirs and other entertainers are asked to come out and audition.
Circle of Lights Talent Auditions Schedule
Saturday, September 26, 2009 9 am – 11:30 am
If you missed this one, there’s one more chance:
Thursday, October 1, 2009 4 pm – 8 pm
1828 N Meridian St and W 19th in downtown Indianapolis
Prepare your audition according to the following requirements:
- No more than two minutes for audition purposes
- Use a holiday theme
- Provide your own CD or keyboardist (microphones and a keyboard provided)
- No more thna 25 people per group
The stage is 24 feet by 16 feet, more than enough to accommodate most acts. Judging is carried out with points given to visual presentation, talent, commitment and stage movement.
If you’re selected you will be required to attend two rehearsals before the Circle of Lights event and be present from 2:30 pm until 8:30 pm on the event’s inauguration day, Friday, November 27, 2009. This year’s Circle of Lights is the 47th annual presentation, put on by the Electrical Workers of IBEW 481, the Contractors of Quality Connection and Indianapolis Downtown, Inc.
Pre-registration is not required. Auditioners from Indianapolis and other cities in Indiana are accepted.
