The show runs through October 18 at the Buck Creek Playhouse. Tickets are $14.00 for adults and $12.00 for Indianapolis kids with student ID and senior citizens age 62 and over. The curtain goes up in Indianapolis at 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 pm on Sunday.
Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage follows Big 8, a feisty and bitter critter, who is facing foreclosure on her Wyoming ranch. In the wild west, she has devoted her time to rehabilitating injured rodeo cowboys. But things get dicey upon the arrival of a shocking woman named Shedevil and a one-eyed Ukrainian biker named Black Dog. Together they usher in outrageous violence and horror in this shoot ’em up, knock ’em up, cut ’em up comic romp that roasts the cowboy mentality of B-movie westerns. Showcasing the antic side of this prolific, award-winning playwright, this bodacious and macabre cross-over comedy mixes horror and hilarity as it pits the code of the West against contemporary darkness.
Directed by Parrish Williams and featuring Jolene Mentink Mofatt, Pete Lindblom, Carrie A. Schlatter, Kimberly Ruse, Joe Steiner, Paul Hansen and Ray Gregoire, Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage is sure to entertain. The Buck Creek Players have been a vital part of Indianapolis arts and Indianapolis theater since 1973. This Indianapolis performing arts group attracts artists, actors, and musicians from around the Circle City to perform all time favorite comedies and musicals.
