Butler University’s School of Music Presents Two Concerts Oct. 8

Indianapolis music is cackling this week as Butler University’s School of Music offers two concerts this Thursday, October 8. Both of these Indianapolis events are free and open to the entire Indianapolis community. Bring your Indianapolis kids to hear what Indianapolis education has to offer.

The first of the two concerts is being presented at the Meridian Street United Methodist Church at 5500 North Meridian Street at 7:30 pm. The voices of Butler students will soar above the Circle City as Butler Chorale, the University Choir and the Chamber Choir share their repertoire. Do not miss your opportunity to hear to vocal talents that one of the 25 largest colleges in Indiana has to share. This year’s crop of singers show promise. Come scout the stars of tomorrow.

The second of the two concerts can be found at Clowes Memorial Hall on Butler University’s campus at 4600 Sunset Avenue at 7:30 pm. The Butler University Jazz Ensembles welcome trumpeter Robert Baca as guest artist. Baca, a world-class musician and educator, has performed with Buddy Rich, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and many other legends. Now he takes the stage with the students of Butler University’s School of Music.

Remember both of these Indianapolis art events are free and open to the people of Indianapolis. Expand your horizons and let the beautiful harmonies of these two groups waft over you. Relax and enjoy the voices of angels or the funky beats of jazz. The only hitch is you have to choose, which Indianapolis performing arts group to see. But do not worry, the School of Music at Butler University is offering more than 30 concerts this year. So you will have plenty of opportunities to see all of your favorite Indy ensembles as many times as you choose.
