Halloween ZooBoo Starts October 16, 2009

Get your costumes ready for the Indianapolis Zoo’s annual Halloween ZooBoo presented by AT&T Real Yellow Pages, October 16-18, 22-25, and 29-30, 2009. This Indianapolis event, designed specially for Indianapolis kids, runs from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm each day.

Halloween ZooBoo is a great way to kick-off a family Halloween celebration and is free for Zoo members and included with regular Zoo admission. The Zoo stays open late with animals on exhibit. Children will have a blast bowling with pumpkins and riding the Halloween train, as well as other Halloween-themed rides. They can also learn about not-so-scary animals, jump around in a bounce house, watch the Halloween dolphin show, trick-or-treat and even enter to win a painting by an elephant.

Keepers will be out on grounds offering even more chats during the day. (Trick-or-treat bags will be provided by Texas Roadhouse, while supplies last. Join the Indianapolis Zoo on October 17, 2009 when FedEx and Safe Kids USA remind children and adults how to have fun and stay safe on Halloween. FedEx will provide reflective giveaways to Indianapolis kids, so they will be more visible during dark trick-or-treating hours.  They will also share safety tips with parents and drivers.

This year there are even more Halloween activities! With games and activities all around the grounds, kids can find their way through the hay maze, jump in a bounce house, tackle pumpkin bowling and play the artifact guessing game. The Halloween Train Ride is a special ghostly treat that comes to life with real characters. Even the carousel will be running backwards at the Halloween ZooBoo!

And as the day gets chilly, you can fill up on warm apple cider or a caramel apple. Take pictures with mascots and even trick-or-treat at stations along the way. And new this year, giant pumpkins growing along the train route will be debuted by the Zoo’s horticultural staff.

If you are doing holidays on a budget this year, there is no need to worry. Indianapolis businesses across the Circle City are offering special rates on tickets. Below is a list of all the places around Indy where you can find discounts:
