This October in Indy, there’s more to run from than ghastly ghosts and spooky spirits. Head to downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, on the night before Halloween for an evening of frightening fitness and fun at the Run Like Hell 5K.
The hopping Indianapolis cultural district known as downtown is famous in the Hoosier state for its trendy bars, unique restaurants, and stylish shops. So what better place to celebrate one of the most eagerly anticipated holidays of the year? On Friday, October 30, grab your friends and gear up for the Run Like Hell 5K race. This Indianapolis event takes place at 7:00 p.m. in White River State Park.
The Run Like Hell 5K isn’t just any old race–so put those running tights away and layer on your favorite creepy costume attire. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume, so even if you aren’t the speediest in the bunch, channel your creative juices and you could still be a winner. And if you’re a runner and a writer, make sure to enter the epitaph contest by Wednesday, October 28, and your poetic masterpiece could be displayed on a tombstone at the “graveyard” gracing the registration area.
Registration is from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Friday evening. The course winds through scenic downtown, so you’ll have plenty to look at for the three mile duration. Awards are handed out and costume winners are announced at 8:00 p.m. After you catch your breath and receive your awards, stick around for the provided snacks or refuel at one of the fabulous Indianapolis restaurants lining the streets of downtown Indianapolis.
