The Music Department at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis present the YMT Trio this Thursday, October 22 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are only $5.00 to this Indianapolis music event. The performance will take place in Room 152 of the IT Building on IUPUI’s campus.
The YMT Guitar Trio, made up of Jeff Young, Scott Morris and Steven Thachuk, is back in Indianapolis fresh from their tour of venues and festivals throughout Europe and the United States in July of 2009. Each member of the YMT Guitar Trio brings a little something different to the group, making them one of the most diverse Indianapolis bands. Their

repertoire includes their own original compositions as well as Brazilian, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Radiohead, and Frank Zappa.
Jeff Young has experience touring and performing, as he was the lead guitarist of the band Megadeath from 1986 to 1988. Their multi-platinum album So Far, So Good… So What! garnered him and the band critical and commercial success. In addition, he found success with Badi Assad from 1996-2000, when their recording Chameleon reached number one in Europe.
Scott Morris is no stranger to success either. He gave his New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall in 1998 and has toured the three continents with his music. In addition, his musical talents were requested for Eroica Classical and Centaur Records, where he worked with Niko Bolas, former Neil Young producer. Morris has also performed with super stars like Steve Perry and Martin Chalifour.
And last but certainly not least, Steven Thachuk is one of Canada’s most talented guitarists. He has performed with chamber orchestras and as a soloist in North America, Great Britain and Europe. Thachuk is master of both the traditional classical guitar and a steel string instrument.
