The Phantom of the Opera is more than a love story. This creepy tale explores the darkest desires of our hearts and lengths to which some will go to exploit our vulnerabilities. Each character is forced to confront hidden wants and scars as they court the elusive concept of love.
Alyona Yakovlena interprets the 1912 novel through contemporary choreograph. As the founding artistic director of the Indiana Ballet Company, Yakovlena implements stunning movement and technique on stage in her dancers. With an attention to various styles from classical ballet to modern dance and even character work, these dancers are pushed to do it all. The musical selections are as diverse as the movement work ranging from Chopin to Vanessa Mae.
Watch the mystery of The Phantom of the Opera unfold in the stunning Indianapolis theatre, the Madame Walker Theatre.
