This November, gear up for some frosty winter fun at the Indianapolis Zoo. There’s always something special going on at this favorite Indianapolis attraction, and the month of November is no exception.
Make sure you don’t miss out on Asian Impressions at White River Gardens, an exhibit that’s been delighting zoo visitors since the end of September 2009. This dazzling display of garden design takes you deep into the far East, where you’ll discover the uniqueness, tranquility, and traditions that define Asian botanical beauty. More than 30 bonsai specimens will be on display, amidst floating red gossamer and and all enclosed in an intricate bamboo gate. If you enjoy seeing the dolphins do their thing at the Indianapolis Zoo, you won’t want to miss out on their special winter performances, running now through the end of December. Throughout the month of November, prepare for a show that dazzles the senses at the Marsh Dolphin Adventure Theater. Performances are daily at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. In December, the shows take place at night for plenty of after-dark fun. Full of daredevil stunts and lovable tricks, the dolphins are sure to please kids of all ages this winter.
And of course, your Indianapolis kids won’t want to neglect another favorite cold-weather friend at the Indianapolis Zoo. The penguins are always a crowd pleaser, and in November, it’s their turn to shine. The Rockhoppers, Gentoos, and King Penguins steal the show this month in Oceans Presented by Old National Bank. Come and learn more about these cuddly creatures and participate in the Penguin Feed, which takes place daily at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
After feeding your new fuzzy friends, make sure to ride at least a couple of the great rides at the Indianapolis Zoo. No animal experience is complete without a train ride through the park for the best view of each exotic exhibit.
