The Cabaret at the Connoisseur Room Presents “Enter Love,”

The Premiere of an Original Musical Review Written By Local Composer, Lynn Lupold

The Cabaret at the Connoisseur Room will present “Enter Love”,the premiere of an original musical review, on November, 5th, 6th, and 7th in downtown Indianapolis. If you have yet to see in the intimate settings the new-look Cabaret at the Connoisseur Room offers, take this opportunity to see one of the most entertaining shows in all of Indianapolis.

“Enter Love” explores the many aspects of love through original songs with music and lyrics all written by local Indianapolis music composer, Lynn Lupold. The show will also feature a cast of five local singers:Deb Mullins, Kathleen Carter, Ron Hellems, Ron Morgan and the Cabaret’s own Shannon Forsell, supported by David Duncan as musical director.

“I am thrilled to be able to be a part of this show and to have this show premiere at The Cabaret,” says Forsell, managing director of The Cabaret.“Lynn was my high school choral director (Noblesville High School) and really helped to cultivate in me my love for singing and performing. It was she who encouraged me to choose singing as a career. In fact, my very first solo cabaret show was “Shannon On Her Own,” created with Lynn as musical director in 1984.How wonderful to, years later, be collaborating once again on a show that will now spotlight her and her musical compositions.

“Each of these talented five people have taken a risk for me. They have put themselves on a stage to sing music no one knows or has any relationship to…..if a the end of the performance the audience can take away a new emotional connection to the music then the risk was worth taking. I only hope they understand how frightening it is for me but also how comforting it is for me to know the music is now in good hands. This show is truly a dream becoming a reality.”

“There is another interesting side story to the show,” says Forsell.“One of the other cast members, Ron Hellems, was the choral director for Carmel High School at the same time that I was in show choir under Lynn’s direction. At that time, Carmel High School was a bit of a nemesis to Noblesville High School (and every other Indianapolis high school, and all of Indiana!)The new FOX television show “Glee” is actually based on Carmel High School and Indiana show choirs in the 1980’s–our era!We love to talk about that television show and ouryears together in swing choir—it is strange how things have come around again.

The show will feature twenty-four original songs.Lupold recently received the honor of being named finalist in the Song of the Year international songwriting contest for her song “Ask Me Now”–one of the songs featured in the musical “Enter Love.” The contest supports VH-1’s Save the Music Foundation, and Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners.Lynn competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor.

The show will run for only three performances.Seating is limited in this intimate, 100-seat performance venue.
