Peewinkles Puppet Studio at the Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis

Indianapolis kids will be enrapt by Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio at the Indiana State Museum this weekend with their celebration of Winter Festivals Around the World. Expose your children to the global community through puppets. Learn how and what other parts of the world celebrate during the Winter time. With beautifully crafted puppets and an innovative program, Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio is a favorite Indianapolis performing arts group for children of all ages.

On a twinkling 36 foot set inspired by old-fashioned advent calendars, watch as marionettes and large rod puppets come to life. From a live Sugar Plum ballet to a vivacious Chinese New Year dragon, Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio transports audiences around the world. Learn about Hanukah, Christmas, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Kwanzaa and more with Peewinkles Puppet Studio. Now is the time to create little global citizens.

Bring your scouts, ages five to ten, to the show on Saturday. A Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio patch will be available for purchase that day. In addition, the creators of Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio will lead a question and answer session following Saturday’s performance. Learn about a collection of holidays with puppet vignettes accompanied by traditional music. Educational guides are available for teachers and scouts in advance with reservations.

Enjoy the last brisk days of Fall after the show. Take a walk along the Canal Walk and White River State Park. Marvel at the architecture of Indianapolis downtown, the majesty of the Eiteljorg Mueseum, and the history at the NCAA Hall of Champions and the nearby Victory Field. Before the Circle City turns to an icy Winter haven, enjoy the great outdoors of downtown.

Make this global Indianapolis education complete by trying a new Indianapolis restaurant with your child. Try some Thai at Thai House Restaurant, or continue the celebration of Chinese New Year with some traditional Asian food from H20 Sushi. Let your kids try something different this holiday season!
