Nick Griffin at Crackers Comedy Club in Broad Ripple Village

Crackers Comedy Club in Broad Ripple Village welcomes comedian Nick Griffin to Indianapolis this week. He will be lighting up the stage in Broad Ripple Village from Wednesday, December 2 to Sunday, December 6.  Tickets range from $10.00 to $20.00, and show times are as early as 8:30 pm to as late as 10:30 pm. This wisecracking comedian cuts to the quick as he sets ’em up and knocks ’em down.

You probably recognize Nick Griffin; after all, he has been in the business for years. As a nineteen year old in Kansas City, Griffin discovered his love for stand up. By the time he graduated college at the age of twenty two, Nick had already traversed the United States working full time as a stand up comic. He made the move to the Big Apple in 1990, where he gained his formative experiences at clubs in Greenwich Village. Poor and alone, Griffin’s love of comedy was all that he had to sustain himself. Luckily, he kept getting funnier and funnier.

When he moved to Los Angeles, he got his first big break as a regular at the world famous Improv and The Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach. He also appeared on a number of television shows including A&E’s the Improv and The Comedy on the Road. Soon after this, he began his career as a television writer. He worked as a staff writer on the Keenen Ivory Wayans Show in 1996, and later became the head writer for the Bobby Slayton and Sue Murphy radio show.

Unsatisfied with this success, Nick Griffin decided to continue to pursue stand up, which was always his first love. In 1998, he appeared on HBO’s New Faces show at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. From there he went on to perform on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, The Late Show with David Letterman, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Last year he taped his very own comedy special for Comedy Central Presents. Look for it on television in the spring of 2010. In addition to all of this, Nick Griffin is a regular guest on the nationally syndicated The Bob and Tom Show, heard in Indy on WFBQ.
