It’s the holiday season once again, and you know what that means: Christmas music. Yes, Indianapolis radio stations have been broadcasting holiday favorites like “Jingle Bells” and “White Christmas” all around Indianapolis from morning to night. But these holiday favorites, played over a limited spectrum through your car stereo while you drive through downtown Indianapolis or through a tinny boom box while you work at an Indianapolis business, pale in comparison to the booming live symphony of the University of Indianapolis‘ annual Christmas concert.

“A Christmas Celebration,” presented by the Department of Music at the University of Indianapolis, will fill the halls of the Ruth Lilly Performance Hall inside the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center with the sweet sounds of the season on Friday, December 4 and Sunday, December 6, giving Indianapolis music fans two chances to see this heart-warming performance. The University of Indianapolis choral and instrumental ensembles will be performing holiday classics that will be familiar to most audience members. Don’t forget to bring your singing voice either; the audience will be invited to participate in certain selections with the vocal chamber ensemble, Women’s Chorus, and the Concert Choir.
Tickets, available through the box office at the University of Indianapolis, are $10 for general admission and $6 for seniors and students. CD’s will also be available of the concert, which make great Christmas gifts for fans of Indianapolis musical organizations like the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra or the Athenaeum Pops Orchestra. Don’t miss “A Christmas Celebration,” a wonderfully entertaining evening with the faculty and students of one of the finest Indiana colleges!
